The Planning For The Arrowverse Crossover Has Begun

The Arrowverse has grown very quickly. Stephen Amell donned the green hood as Oliver Queen in October of 2012, and in the eighth episode of season two we were introduced to Grant Gustin as Barry Allen. He stuck around for two episodes before returning to Central City and being struck by lightning during the particle accelerator explosion.

As season three of Arrow began, so did the first season of The Flash. The two series began introducing other heroes. Huntress, Black Canary, Arsenal, Spartan, Vibe, Firestorm, the Atom, Wildcat — and with the introduction of Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Rip Hunter, the Legends of Tomorrow began the next season. In the second season of Legends and Supergirl, the third season of Flash and the Fifth season of Arrow, we got the biggest crossover event that comic fans could imagine… Invasion.

Arrowverse Crossover

Now, from a photo taken by Marc Guggenheim, we see that Jessica Queller, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, Robert Rovner, Wendy Mericle, and Todd Helbing are getting together to work on the next crossover, which they promise to be bigger — yet more personal. They will correct something that bugged fans last year: The crossover started in the last five minutes of Supergirl, when Barry Allen and Cisco appeared to get Kara’s help. Otherwise, it had nothing to do with the episode. This year, the full episode will be part of the crossover. It will then go to Arrow, which will be moving to Mondays at 9 p.m. ET, creating a two hour block of time. The crossover will then continue and conclude with another two-hour block starting with the Flash and ending with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Little else is known about the crossover, but it will be based on a comic storyline and again, it’s supposed to be more personal. Oh, to be a writer in that room.
