foxgist Cool Game Awards 2017: Best Continued Service Game
For foxgist Cool’s Best Continued Service Game of 2017, our three esteemed games judges were asked to weigh in on the best game that continued to support its playerbase with new free and DLC content to determine which was the absolute best continued service game of the year. The brutal competition included major fan favorites like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, and even Dying Light.
The full list of nominees is:
- Dying Light
- Tom Clancy’s The Division
- Dark Souls III
- Uncharted 4
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
Our judges’ scores were:
|Games||Madeline’s Score||Patrick’s Score||Gavin’s Score||Total|
|Tom Clancy’s The Division||6||5||6||17|
|Dark Souls III||4||6||4||16|
|Tom Clancy’s Rainbow: Six Siege||2||2||2||6|
Despite having two Tom Clancy games on the list, there was an obvious preference for one, and an absolute ranking. No ties here. The votes were absolutely unanimous as Overwatch being the best continued service game of the year. This isn’t a surprise since Overwatch was pretty much everyone’s Game of the Year for 2016, so unless Blizzard massively screwed up, Overwatch was going to be a favorite here.
Coming in second was Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege which beat out The Division by 11 whole points. In fact, The Division was the lowest scoring game of the category, with Dark Souls III eeking ahead by a single point.
